Description
A terrace of five houses at 54-58 Greendale Road, Bebington, built in 1901 by Pain and Blease as part of the Port Sunlight model village. The houses are constructed of brick with a slate roof and tile cresting. They are two storeys high, with five gabled bays. The roof extends as a canopy over the entrances between the end bays and the centre, while the central bay projects forward with a canted first floor, featuring a diapered gable. The end bays, along with entrances, also project forward. A weathered sill band and a ground floor cornice are present. The windows are double-chamfered mullioned, with brick mullions and elliptical-headed lights, containing leaded glazing. The ground floor windows are primarily three-light, with a central four-light window, whereas the first floor windows are primarily two-light, with a central three-light window. Elliptical-headed entrances feature six-panel doors, each with leaded lights, two of which have flanking lights. There are four cross-axial and two gable-end stacks. The rear elevation is similar, featuring end gables and raking dormers, as well as privies.
