Description
Wood's House Farmhouse is a building dating from 1664 and 1707, located on School Lane in Rainhill. The older stone wing on the right has a gabled roof and is two storeys high, featuring a six-light stone mullioned window on each floor and a stepped three-light window at the top of the gable. A later stone chimney projects from the right front corner. The left wing is made of brick and has a modern casement window on each floor. There is a smaller gable in the centre above a panelled door and an upper casement window in the brick section. The farmhouse has a stone roof with a central chimney. The stone portion is not occupied. The right wing has a datestone marked L R L A 1664, while the gable of the left wing has a datestone marked T F 1707.
