Description
The water tower at Turris Heah on Mill Lane is a square structure dating from the 19th century. It features ashlar quoining and a shallow parapet, although the water tank and top section of the tower have been removed. The main entrance is located on the north-west elevation, consisting of a wide, round-headed doorway with a central keystone and imposts that extend as a raised band around the building. The entrance is fitted with a timber door. The remaining ground floor elevations are adorned with slender, paired round-headed windows that have relief ashlar surrounds, complete with keystones and imposts, and plain glazing. On the first floor, each elevation features taller, tripartite round-headed windows in the same style, with blind centre lights and a raised head, along with a corbelled sill band for each set of windows. Inside, the space is empty, with ladder access to the first floor and roof.
