Description

The verandah attached to the shop fronts at numbers 497-507 on Lord Street in Southport is likely from the early 20th century and consists of two sections. It features a six-bay colonnade with a junction between the fourth and fifth bays. The structure is made of cast iron and glass, supported by slender cast-iron columns, including two at the junction, which have vase-shaped pedestals and crocketed caps in two alternating forms. The decorative stilts are adorned with large open-work brackets that support plain beams, and there are moulded gutters with cresting. The roof is single-pitched and glazed. Please note that numbers 497-507 are not included in this listing.
