Description

Castree Bros Warehouse is a late 19th-century foundry that has been converted into a warehouse. It is constructed from common brick, featuring red and blue brick and stone dressings. The facade consists of two storeys and 32 bays. There is a sill band on the first floor, along with a top frieze and cornice that includes gablets with finials.

The first seven bays create a symmetrical arrangement of three bays, one bay, and three bays, with gablets above the end three bays and a panel inscribed "HARLAND AND WOLFF LTD." The end twelve bays are arranged in a similar pattern of two, three, two, three, and two, with gablets over the three-bay sections and the same panel as before. The central thirteen bays feature gables over five bays at each end, with a decorative cornice and a pediment above a panel inscribed "FOUNDRY."

The windows are blind, with segmental heads and keystones, and those in the five-bay gabled sections are stepped. There is a central entrance, two segmental-headed cart entrances to the right, and later entrances to the end blocks. The right return of the building includes round-headed recesses.
