Description
This is a terrace of ten houses located on the north side of Canning Street. They were built in the 1830s. The houses are constructed of brick with stone dressings and have a slate roof. Each house is three storeys high with a basement, and has three bays. A band sits above the basement level, another above the first-floor window sills, and a top frieze, cornice, and blocking course is visible at the roofline. The windows have wedge lintels and are sash windows with glazing bars above the ground floor level. Each house has one blind window on the second floor. The entrances are topped by Ionic aedicules, lacking pediments. Original iron railings are present to the areas and steps.
Number 1 has a complete overlight and a six-panel door. Number 3 features a six-panel door, while number 5 has a complete overlight and a six-panel door. Number 7 has a complete overlight and a four-panel door. Number 9 is similar to number 7 and includes a first-floor iron balcony. Number 11 has a four-panel door and three iron balconies on the first floor. Number 15 shares the same features as number 11. Numbers 17 and 19 also have iron balconies on their first floors.
