Description

Basil Grange is a house dated 1880, constructed of stone with a slate roof. It has two storeys and a basement, featuring seven bays. The first three bays project forward, while the second and fifth bays also project under gables, with the second bay being dated. The building includes a basement lintel band, string courses, and a top corbel table, as well as quoins. The windows have mullions and transoms, with those on the ground floor featuring label moulds. The fifth bay contains a stair window with four lights, and the sixth bay has a gabled porch with an entrance that has a Tudor arch. The end bay has a truncated lateral stack with blind windows; the ground floor window in this bay displays a shield. There are also clustered round stacks, and a tower with an embattled parapet is located at the rear.
