Description

The Particular Baptist Chapel dates to 1847. It is constructed of brick with stone dressings and a slate roof. The main front has three bays, featuring a central distyle-in-antis Ionic porch with angle pilasters. Above the porch is an entablature and pediment. A sill band runs across the facade, and the windows are set within architraves with friezes and consoled cornices, containing small-paned iron casements. Entrances are located in the returns of the porch. The returns of the building are five bays wide, also with a sill band and cornice. These returns contain cut-brick flat arches over small-paned casements, with iron panels separating the ground-floor and balcony windows. The interior was not inspected during the listing process.
