Description
Saint Francis Xavier's Schools is a school building, largely designed by Henry Clutton in 1856, with later additions, including features from 1877. The structure is made of red brick with terracotta dressings and has a slate roof. It stands two storeys high with an attic and consists of nine bays, showcasing a free Chateau style. The main facade is divided by buttresses, with tripartite windows on the ground floor and first-floor windows featuring three segmental-headed lights. The entrance includes an open porch with a segmental arch that integrates into the flanking buttresses. Corbelled weathering supports a balustrade around the tops of the buttresses. The dormers are designed with two segmental-headed lights and gables, which are flanked by pinnacles, with two clustered around the stacks. The property is enclosed by area railings.
