Description
Nos. 2 and 4 Percy Street are a pair of houses built in 1835. They are constructed of ashlar stone and topped with a slate roof. The buildings are two storeys high, with a basement and attic, and each house has three bays. The central four bays project under two gables, supported by three panelled pilasters that end in gabled finials. The end bays feature a cornice and a panelled parapet. The windows have label moulds and are sashed, with the first-floor windows and one attic window featuring glazing bars. The attic windows have four-centred heads. Each gable is topped with an octagonal stone chimney and a central stone stack. The front of the houses is enclosed by iron area railings with decorative heads and stone gate piers, while the rear has a stone wall with an open arcade parapet.
No. 2 has its entrance in a low castellated side porch, which includes a label mould and a four-panel door. There are two cherub's heads located under the returns of the cornice and a shield with a heraldic crest in the gable. No. 4 features a similar porch leading to a recessed bay, complete with an overlight.
