Description
No. 39 Canning Street is a house built in the 1830s. It is constructed of brick with stone dressings and features a slate roof. The building has three storeys and a basement, with a three-bay façade. There is a lintel band at the basement level and a sill band at the first floor. The top of the house is finished with a cornice and a blocking course. The windows have wedge lintels and are sash windows, with glazing bars on the second floor. The entrance is framed by an Ionic aedicule, which does not have a pediment. There are iron railings surrounding the area, and the steps leading to the entrance have decorative heads. Additionally, there is an iron balcony on the first floor.
