Description
No. 70 Upper Parliament Street is a house built in the 1820s. It is constructed of brick with stone dressings and has a slate roof. The building has two storeys and a basement, featuring three bays, with the central bay projecting forward under a pediment. There is a lintel band at the basement level, a sill band at the first floor, and a top frieze, cornice, and blocking course. The windows are adorned with architraves; those on the ground floor include aprons, friezes, and consoled cornices, while the central window on the first floor also has friezes and a consoled cornice. All windows are sashed and do not have glazing bars. The central entrance is highlighted by a distyle-in-antis Ionic porch and a six-panel door. The area and steps are enclosed by iron railings with anthemion heads, and there are gates and gatepiers leading to the basement steps.
