Description

The entrance to Waterloo Tunnel, built in 1847 for the Liverpool and Manchester Railway, is a notable stone structure. It features vermiculated rustication and a rusticated round arch, which is flanked by buttresses that also display vermiculated rustication. At the top, there is a modillioned cornice with an ashlar coped parapet.
