Description
The hydraulic plant house and adjoining accumulator tower, located to the east of the engine house at Edge Hill Station, were built in 1882 for the Edge Hill Gridiron. The structure is made of stone and consists of three bays, featuring rustication up to the sill level, along with a frieze and cornice at the top. It has round-headed windows with false arches and faceted keystones. The central entrance is also round-headed, with a false arch and rounded faceted keystone. The windows are small-paned iron casements. The accumulator tower to the east is constructed of brick and has an iron cornice, with clasping pilasters. It features a round-headed entrance on the north side, which has a round opening above it.
