Description
The Crying Tree is a house that has been converted into a restaurant, originally built in the 1840s with later alterations. The building is finished in stucco and features a hipped slate roof with decorative fishscale bands. It stands two storeys high and has three bays, with the central bay being recessed. There are sill bands and a cornice above the ground floor, along with a top frieze and cornice. The windows are sash style and do not have glazing bars. The entrance is accentuated by a Tuscan porch with paired columns, leading to a 20th-century door that is sheltered by a canopy. The right side of the building has four bays, with the second bay projecting under an open pediment and featuring tripartite windows. There are outbuildings on the property, but they are not of special interest.
