Description
Grange Lodge is a house built in the 17th century, with extensions from the 18th and early 19th centuries. It is constructed of stone and features a slate roof that is hipped at one end, along with brick cross-axial stacks. The building has two storeys and five bays. The first bay includes a ground floor six-light and a first floor seven-light mullioned window, both with label moulds. The second and third bays are made of rubble with large flush quoins and a band above the ground floor. The windows in these bays have keyed lintels and are sashed with glazing bars. The fourth and fifth bays are made of ashlar and are similar to the second and third bays. The entrance to the first bay is round-headed, featuring angle pilasters, a keyed archivolt, a fanlight, and a half-glazed door. The left return to the street has two bays, with segmental-headed windows that have sliding sashes and transoms. The ground floor windows have gauged brick cambered arches and do not have upper sliding sashes. Inside, there is a room with early 18th-century fielded panelling and fluted flat pilasters flanking the fireplace.
