Description
The Welsh Presbyterian Church is a non-conformist chapel built between 1865 and 1867 by architects W and G Audsley. It features a rock-faced rubble exterior and a patterned slate roof, showcasing a High Victorian Gothic style. The church has a nave with four bays, which includes three-light windows and stepped west windows arranged in a 2:3:2 pattern. The southwest tower, which is positioned at the actual east, has angle buttresses that end in niches and paired louvred bell openings. A broach spire sits between pinnacles and is adorned with arcading and lucarnes that have hipped roofs. The west entrance is located in the tower and consists of three orders with a shallow porch. The transepts contain three stepped two-light windows, and the south transept features a canted stair tower with a hipped roof. At the crossing, there is a slate fleche with an open stage. Inside, the church has a barrel roof supported by wall piers, with galleries at the west end and in the transepts resting on marble piers. The pulpit is located at the east end, with a surrounding area in front that is enclosed by rails and an organ positioned behind it. An east rose window and iron light fittings complete the interior.
