Description
Streatlam Tower is a mid-19th century house located on Princes Road, L8. It is constructed of brick with stone dressings and features slate roofs. The building has three storeys and a basement, divided into three bays, with the end bay projecting under a gable. A round turret at the angle of the building is topped with a conical spire.
Architectural details include sill bands and a brick cornice, with varied windows that are both mullioned and transomed. The end bay features a two-storey canted bay window adorned with a diapered parapet. The first bay has a three-light window with tympana and a pierced balcony above it on the first floor. The second floor contains two-light windows with trefoil tympana and relieving arches. The first bay also has a gabled half-dormer.
The tower has narrow windows and an entrance that is framed with an architrave and cable moulding. On the left return, there is a one-storey projection with a parapet decorated with roundels, and a square turret that includes a timber bay with gablets.
