Description
St Margaret's Vicarage is a vicarage built around 1869, likely designed by the architect Street. It is constructed of common brick with red brick and stone dressings, topped with a slate roof. The building has two storeys with an attic and features four bays. The first bay projects under a gable, while the second bay juts forward beneath a lean-to roof that slopes to the right. The end bay also has a gable. There is a first-floor sill band, and the gables display tumbled-in brickwork with stone coping.
The windows are varied, primarily consisting of tripartite and four-light sashes without glazing bars. They are adorned with stone lintels and brick relieving arches. Notably, the first bay does not have a first-floor window but features a pointed relieving arch instead. The entrance is pointed arched. A hipped roof dormer is present in the second bay, along with three tall panelled stacks. The return elevation facing Princes Road has three bays, with two first-floor windows that have pointed relieving arches and chequer-work tympana. A central gabled dormer completes the design.
