Description

Two houses, 16 and 18 Croxteth Road, were built around 1845 by W. Culshaw. They are constructed of stucco with a slate roof. The houses are two storeys high with an attic, and comprise eleven bays, with bays two to seven recessed between pedimented bays. A sill band runs around the building, with a further band above the ground floor. There is a top console frieze and a bracketed cornice. The windows have architraves and are sash windows with glazing bars. The first-floor windows in the recessed bays are round-headed. The open pediments are also round-headed. The end three bays have attic windows and include three enclosed porches: two positioned at the angles of the recessed bays, and one at the end bay. These porches have cornices, parapets, and round-headed entrances.
