Description

Park Hall is a Congregational church and school, now functioning as a church hall. It was built in 1856 for the church and 1861 for the school. The building is constructed from rock-faced stone with ashlar dressings and features a slate roof with cresting. It is a single-storey structure with seven bays, where the last two bays were originally part of the school. The third and fourth bays project under gables, while the fifth bay has a lean-to under a cat-slide roof, with a low roof ridge behind it and the sixth bay. The seventh bay forms a gabled cross-wing.

The second and third bays contain three-light windows, with the central light being taller, pointed, and traceried, although these are now blocked. The fourth and fifth bays have three-light single-chamfered-mullioned windows, which are also blocked, and there are small rose windows above the third and fourth bays, accompanied by a sill course. The seventh bay features a five-light window with cusped pointed heads and a rose window above, along with diagonal buttresses and two small buttresses flanking a tiled roof dormer in the fifth bay.

The first bay has a pointed entrance, while an entrance has been inserted into the fourth bay. The sixth bay includes a small tower that forms a porch. There are diagonal buttresses and a segmental-pointed entrance with one order, featuring a hood mould with head stops. Above this is a cornice with weathering and a datestone reading "ABW/1861" with a hood mould. The top frieze has a consoled cornice and gargoyles, and the building is topped with a swept slate-hung spire.

On the left return, there is a blocked five-light window with a rose window above it. The right return consists of four bays with three-light windows, where the central lights are taller and traceried, with gablets positioned between the buttresses. The building also features animal rainwater heads. At the rear, there is a later 19th-century brick extension.
