Description
Charity Farmhouse is a 17th-century house built from squared sandstone rubble and topped with a stone slate roof. It features an end baffle-entry plan with a cross-wing on the right side. The building has two storeys and is adorned with mullioned windows that have hoods. On the ground floor, there is a chamfered window with five lights, and above it, a recessed and chamfered window with four lights. The cross-wing consists of one bay and includes recessed and chamfered windows, with four lights on the ground floor and three above. Below the apex of the cross-wing is a blind chamfered one-light window with a segmental head. The main doorway, located on the left side, is moulded with a segmental head and has a chamfered recess above it. There is a second doorway in the left-hand return wall of the cross-wing with plain reveals. A chimney with a brick cap is positioned to the left of the main range. Slightly set back to the left is an addition that has a continuous roof, which is now blind at the front but includes a blocked window and doorway, along with a chimney on its left-hand gable.
