Description
Toogood Farmhouse is a house built in 1708, with alterations made around 1900. It is constructed of sandstone rubble and features a stone slate roof. The building has a lobby-entry plan and stands two storeys high. There is one bay on each side of a two-storey gabled porch. The windows are fitted with stone lintels and sills, and have plain reveals. The stonework shows remnants of blocked windows, including a former window on the first floor of the porch. The porch itself has a storey band and a carved plaque beneath the gable that reads 'WH 1708'. The outer doorway of the porch is framed by a stone architrave, while the inner door consists of six raised and fielded panels. A brick cap of the chimneystack is aligned with the porch.
