Description

High Walthew Green Farmhouse is a farmhouse that has been converted into a religious centre. It likely dates from the late 17th century or early 18th century and has undergone alterations. The building is constructed from coursed sandstone rubble and features a slate roof. It has an L-shaped plan, consisting of a single-depth three-bay main range that faces south, with its back towards the lane. This main range includes a rear wing at the center and an outshut at the first bay.

The farmhouse has two low storeys and four windows. The south front features a doorway that is offset to the right of center, leading to a board door that is sheltered by an open-fronted lean-to porch with a stone slate roof. On the ground floor, there is a three-light casement window in the first bay and another in the third bay, both with raised sills and rectangular lintels. The first floor has a similar three-light casement in the first bay, an inserted oblong window, a two-light casement in the second bay, and another two-light casement in the third bay. Gable chimneys are present.

On the left gable, there is a two-light casement and a small two-light sliding sash window at ground floor, with altered windows above. The right gable features a 20th-century brick extension at ground floor and a two-light sliding sash window above. At the rear, the ground floor of the main range is now covered by a 20th-century glazed external corridor, but it retains a three-light casement on each floor. The gable of the wing has a two-light sliding sash window at ground floor and a small-paned three-light casement above.
