Description

Nutters Platt Farmhouse is a farmhouse dated 1653, constructed of pebbledashed brick with a slate roof. The building features a basic two-bay baffle-entry plan, with a crosswing added to the right end. The original house has been altered internally. The front of the farmhouse is mostly symmetrical, except for the slightly projecting gable wall at the right end, which has one square two-light casement window on each floor.

A two-storey gabled porch is located at the front, featuring a doorway with stone jambs and a large stone lintel inscribed with the words: "WILLIAM MODS LE BVLDED THIS HOVS. AD 1653." Above the porch, there is a square two-light casement window. On the ground floor, there are three-light casements on each side of the porch, while the first floor has two two-light casements on each side. All windows have stone jambs, sills, and heads, and they appear to date from the 19th or 20th century.

The farmhouse has three chimney stacks: one aligned with the entrance, one at the right end of the right bay, and one in the right wall of the wing. There is also a single-storey outshut located behind the first bay.
