Description

This farm building, likely a stable, dates from the early 18th century and has been altered and extended in the 19th century; it is now used as a store. The structure is built of stone and brick, featuring a stone plinth and dressings, with a roof made of corrugated sheeting. It has a rectangular plan consisting of three bays, with a fourth bay added later on the right end. The building stands two storeys tall, having been raised in the 19th century. The left end wall shows the lower gable made of watershot masonry, with stone quoins that rise to the height of the original building. The front wall is constructed of brick and includes a doorway with stone jambs and an undercut chamfered lintel at each end, while a similar door at the rear of the third bay has been blocked. In the centre of the front wall, there is a double door with a wooden lintel and a modern loading door positioned above it. The rear wall features two square window openings with stone sills and heads, both of which are blocked. Attached at a right angle to the southeast corner is a yard wall made of rubble with rounded coping, ending with a round-headed stone gatepost.
