Description

The ice house, located approximately 100 metres south of Worden Hall, is a structure with a decorated stone facade, likely dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century. It features an ogee-headed entrance that has been blocked with bricks. The masonry around the entrance includes carved pieces from the 16th century or earlier, including two small statues on carved corbels that do not match them, three faces, and a coved block with hollow spandrels. These decorative elements may have originated from the Church of St. Andrew, whose old nave was demolished in 1816. The interior of the ice house is not accessible.
