Description
The stable block on the north side of Worden Hall is a building from the 18th century. It is constructed of brick and features a slate roof, with a roughly squared plan. The building is two storeys high and has stone quoins and a band on the east wall. This wall has wide doorways at both ends of the ground floor, which have been converted into windows, and both doorways feature stone jambs and lintels. There is a loft door located at the first floor of the north gable.
Inside, the ground floor includes a lateral partition wall that incorporates a grill and feeding troughs. On the north side of this wall, there are stalls with original ramped iron and wooden partitions, complete with railings and a gate. The interior also showcases chamfered beams and impressive kingpost roof trusses, which are supported by two pairs of fishbone struts and three trenched purlins on the principals.
