Description
Moss Meadows Cottage is a farmhouse dating from around 1800, now serving as a house, with an attached barn. It is built of watershot coursed sandstone and features a slate roof with gable chimneys, while the barn has a stone slate roof and is situated on a lower level due to the sloping site. The cottage has two bays and two storeys, with a central two-storey gabled porch that includes a plain doorway, a tall window on the first floor, and a chimney stack at the apex that was formerly used as a pedestal for a weathervane. There are stepped triple-light windows on both floors. The barn to the left has opposed segmental-headed wagon doorways and plain doorways at the lower end. The rear of the house features a square stairlight in the centre, with two casements on each floor; the first bay has four lights, and the second bay has three lights, all with glazing bars. This building closely resembles Moss Meadows Farmhouse, which is located approximately 350 metres to the northeast.
