Description

The former Vicarage to the Church of St. Saviour is a building likely constructed between 1864 and 1865 by E.W. Tarn. It is currently undergoing renovation for other purposes. The structure is made of coursed sandstone rubble with quoins and features a slate roof adorned with bands of green fishscale slates, stone gable copings, a chimney at the left gable, and a diagonal chimney on the ridge.

The building has three bays and a short projecting wing at the center, standing two and a half storeys tall in a late medieval style. Notable features include mullioned and transomed windows, with the central projecting bay designed as a gabled section on the left and a three-stage tower on the right. This tower is topped with a quatrefoil-pierced parapet and a small pyramidal roof. The ground floor of this section has an arched doorway with a roundel above it, the first floor contains a narrow window with a transom, and the top stage features a cusped lancet window on both the front and right side walls.

The gabled part has one cross window on each floor, while the first bay has three windows in a matching style. The third bay includes a cross window at ground level and a cusped trefoil window with a small gablet breaking the eaves on the first floor. Additionally, the right gable wall features a polygonal bay window at ground level, a cross window above, and a small attic window.
