Description
Nos. 1 and 3 Daisy Hill are two cottages dated 1820 on the lintel of the rear lobby doorway, though they may be older and were altered at that time. The buildings have since been modified and now include a shop and a garage. They are constructed from watershot coursed sandstone blocks, with a yellow-washed front and a stone slate roof featuring a ridge chimney stack at the junction. The cottages are arranged in four bays and are two storeys high.
In the centre of No. 1, there is a through lobby. To the right, there is a doorway with a plain surround, two sashed windows at the ground floor, and one above. To the left, there is a large oblong shop window and sliding garage doors leading to No. 3, which has two sashed windows above. At the rear, the doorway to the through lobby has a simple pediment inscribed with "W P S 1820." Next to this doorway, there is another doorway, with two windows at the ground floor and three above, all featuring plain surrounds. Originally, these windows were sashed, but one is now blocked and two have been altered. No. 3 has a central back door and, to the left of this, there is a stepped triple-light window on each floor, with the outer lights blocked.
