Description
The gateway and railings to the churchyard of Longholme Methodist Church were likely constructed around 1840. They consist of cast iron railings on the south, west, and part of the north and east sides of the churchyard. The spear-headed railings are set on a stone plinth and are divided into groups of twelve by decorated posts that feature acorn finials, although some of these finials are missing. The railings curve around the perimeter of the garden of the parsonage, separating it from the churchyard. At the northwest corner, there are square gatepiers with banded faces and moulded caps that have rounded tops, which support iron gates that match the design of the railings.
