Description
This building is an integrated barn and byre located approximately 50 metres northwest of Vicarage House, dating from around 1700. It is constructed of coursed rubble, with some elevations featuring watershot stonework. The roof has stone slabs on the roadside and Welsh slate on the farmyard side. The structure consists of three units: a store, a barn, and a byre, which are separated by a stone cross wall. The building features massive quoining throughout.
On the yardside elevation, there are entrances to each unit, including a wagon entry to the barn with heavily corbelled flanking walls beneath a catslide roof. There is also a small later window and planked doors. The right return has two openings under massive lintels and a later small window.
Inside, the barn retains original trusses with queen struts, three pairs of purlins, and a ridge piece; the byre truss has a renewed king post. The barn has group value with Vicarage House, which is listed as grade I.
