Description
Cold Coats Farmhouse is a house dating from around 1800, with remnants from around 1600. It is constructed of sandstone rubble and features a steep slate roof. The building has two storeys and three bays. The windows in the outer bays are tripartite, with plain reveals and re-used hollow-chamfered mullions. The central first-floor window also has plain reveals.
There is a single-storey gabled porch in the central bay, which appears to be from the late 19th century. This porch includes sashed windows with plain reveals and a door with a plain stone surround on its left-hand return wall. The house has gable chimneys.
On the left-hand (north) gable, there is a wide hoodmould over a blocked window. Two lights remain exposed, featuring an inner hollow chamfer, an outer chamfer, and segmental heads. On the first floor, there is a hoodmould over another blocked window, with a one-light chamfered window to its left. At the rear, there is a stair window with plain reveals and one transom. Additionally, on the left side of the first floor, there is a one-light chamfered window. The interior was not accessible during the survey but is reported to have no features of interest.
