Description
No. 2 Wymondhouses is a house dating from the late 17th century, constructed from sandstone rubble with a stone slate roof. The building is two storeys high and has three bays. To the left of the entrance door, there is a two-light double-chamfered mullioned window. To the right of the door is a five-light window featuring inner ovolo moulding, outer chamfer, and a hood. Next to it is a similar four-light window. On the first floor, there are three three-light double-chamfered windows. The door itself has a chamfered surround, and there is a chimney to the right of each bay. Above the door, there is a modern plaque that reads: 'The first Congregational church in north-east Lancashire was founded here by Thomas Jollie in 1667'.
