Description

The Towns Well is a square, flagged, and walled pool located on the north-east side of Wellgate. It features three steps leading down into the water. This well, along with the wells in Parsons Lane and Well Terrace, served as the only water supply for the town until 1852. The Towns Well, the Dog and Partridge Public House, and Nos 3, 5 to 9 (odd) form a group, with No 5 being a building of local interest only.
