Description
Nos 7 and 9 on Wellgate are early 19th century buildings that stand three storeys tall and are pebble dashed. They feature three windows with stone surrounds, with the centre window blocked and one window having glazing bars, visible on the second floor. The ground floor includes a double-fronted mid-19th century shop and a smaller shop front to the right. There is one plain door set in a stone surround. The side elevation faces No 1 Duck Street and has three windows, with two on the right being hung sashes with glazing bars. The ground floor features two windows and a door in a stone surround. On the first floor of No 9, there is a hoist door in a stone surround above a wood panelled shop front that has an entablature and cornice. This building is part of a group that includes the Dog and Partridge Public House, No 3 The Towns Well, and Nos 5 to 9 (odd), with No 5 being a building of local interest only.
