Description
St Edward's (Stow) Well is a structure likely remodeled in the early to mid-19th century, with possible origins dating back to the late medieval period. The well measures approximately 10 by 18 feet, featuring a pool that is about 6 by 12 feet. It has a rectangular verge with a paved edge and a rectangular wall against the bank, which includes a cast iron spout. There are steps to the left of the well. This well was one of three reliable water sources for Stow, although it was used less frequently than the White and Red Pumps located on the Broadwell side, which are closer to the town center.
