Description
Nos. 2, 3, and 4 The Square in Whalley are a row of houses built in the mid-19th century. They are constructed from sandstone rubble and topped with a slate roof, standing two storeys high. No. 2, located on the left, has two bays, while Nos. 3 and 4 each have one bay. The windows feature plain stone surrounds and are mostly modern, except for those in No. 3, which are sash windows. No. 1 has a door in the left-hand bay, and No. 2 has a door to the left, both beneath modern porches. No. 3 has a door on the left with a plain stone surround. Each house has chimneys positioned to the right. The rear wall displays some 19th-century chamfered stone window surrounds with hoods. This row of houses adjoins Poole House and faces Nos. 1, 2, and 3 Poole End at right angles.
