Description
Nos. 61 and 62 on Church Street are a pair of cottages dated 1798, as indicated by a plaque. They are constructed from squared sandstone blocks and feature brick gable stacks with a modern tiled roof. The cottages are two storeys high and have a cellar. Each house consists of one bay, although No. 61 has an additional window above its doorway. The windows have plain reveals, with No. 61 featuring sash windows. The plain stone door surrounds are centrally located on the facade, and each is accessed by five stone steps. Both cottages have a triple cellar loomshop window with a plain stone surround; however, the window for No. 61 is blocked, while No. 62 retains one light that is still used as a window. Additionally, both cottages have stone gutter brackets.
