Description
Stydd Lodge is a presbytery built in 1789, made from squared, coursed sandstone with a slate roof. It is a two-storey building with a symmetrical three-bay design, featuring a plinth, chamfered quoins, a moulded cornice, and end stacks. The windows have plain stone surrounds, with the ground floor windows being wide and possibly missing mullions. The entrance door is framed by an architrave, a fluted frieze with corner paterae, and a moulded cornice. To the west, there is a single-storey, one-bay link that connects to a two-storey outbuilding, which has a hipped roof, chamfered quoins, and plain stone window surrounds on both floors. This arrangement balances the Church of St. Peter and St. Paul to the east and gives the appearance of a pair of pavilions from the south, as if part of a larger house.
