Description
Merrick's Hall is a house built in 1838, incorporating remains from the 17th century. It is constructed of slobbered sandstone rubble and features a stone slate roof. The building has two storeys with an attic and a south wall that consists of two bays. The windows have plain reveals and projecting sills; notably, the right-hand ground floor window and the left-hand first floor window retain their original sashes with glazing bars. The central door has a plain stone surround with '1838' incised on its lintel.
On the north wall, to the left of the door, there is a four-light mullioned window with a chamfered head and rebated and chamfered jambs, three of which contain very small diamond-leaded panes. Above this is a three-light rebated and chamfered mullioned window. To the right of the door is a cross window featuring an outer chamfer and an inner cyma moulding. Additionally, towards the middle of the wall, under the eaves, is a two-light chamfered mullioned window with small leaded panes. The building has chimneys on its gables.
