Description

Storrs Farmhouse dates to 1666, as evidenced by the inscription on the lintel, and is constructed of slobbered rubble with a slate roof. The farmhouse originally comprised two units with a central entrance and end stacks. A gabled extension runs northwards at the west end. The building has two storeys and an attic. Windows are rebated and chamfered with mullions, and a continuous drip course extends over the ground floor. The front facade has a 4-light window to the left of the front door, followed by a window with three lights to its right. Above, on the first floor, are two 3-light windows. An intermediate stair window on the left of the front door is a single chamfered light. The east gable features a projecting stack, a chamfered attic window, and a blocked one-light chamfered window on the first floor. The west gable has a wooden corbelled frame supporting a chimney cap. The rear wall includes a door with plain reveals and three rebated and chamfered window surrounds. The west-end extension has a stack on its north gable and two 2-light, chamfered mullioned windows of 18th-century style on each floor of its east wall.
