Description
The entrance gates and two archways to Capernwray Hall, located next to Borwick Lodge, were built in the mid-19th century. They are constructed from snecked sandstone rubble with sandstone dressings and feature wrought iron gates. The main archway is wide with a two-centred head and a hood mould. The coping of the flanking walls is triangular in section and steps above the arch, adorned with a carved coat of arms at the apex beneath a triangular head. The gates showcase decorative wrought iron work, and there is a pedestrian gateway to the right that has a moulded surround with a shouldered arch.
