Description
Capernwray Old Hall is a house dating from the late 17th century. It is constructed of sandstone rubble and has pebbledash on the sides and rear, topped with a slate roof. The building has a T-shaped plan, with the front wing consisting of two units, a central entrance, and gable stacks. It is two storeys high with an attic and features three bays. The windows are modern and set in plain stone surrounds. The door surround has deep moulding that continues around a shaped lintel, with remnants of a drip course above. The left-hand gable has a projecting stack, while the right-hand gable features two modern windows with cement surrounds. The left wall of the rear wing includes a modern door and window.
