Description
Keer Bridge, an aqueduct carrying the Lancaster Canal, was opened in 1797 and spans the River Keer. It is constructed from large gritstone blocks and features two high concave battered walls with a single arch. The west side has full-height square piers flanking the arch, which includes a segmental string and two horizontal strings, one located beneath the rounded solid parapet. The east side is similar but has an upper section that has been reconstructed with a flat-topped parapet. Part of this bridge is located in Over Kellet Parish.
