Description
St. Michael's Cottage and Hillcroft is a house dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of pebbledashed rubble and features a slate roof. The building is two storeys tall, with cellars at the rear, and has three bays. The windows are sashed with glazing bars and have plain stone surrounds. The entrance door is set in a plain stone surround between the second and third bays. There are gable stacks and copings, with an additional stack located between the first and second bays. The left-hand gable faces the lane and includes a sashed window with a plain stone surround on each floor, along with a doorway that has plain reveals. The rear wall overlooks the canal. The left-hand end features a sashed window with glazing bars and a plain stone surround on both floors. In the center, there is a two-storey wooden bay window. To the right, a modern window is present, with a sashed window in a plain stone surround above it. At cellar level, there is a doorway with plain reveals.
