Description

Yew Tree Farmhouse is a house dating from 1684, as indicated by the inscription on the lintel. It is constructed from pebbledashed rubble and has a slate roof. The building features a two-unit central-entry plan with end stacks, standing two storeys high and comprising two bays.

All windows are rebated and chamfered, originally consisting of four lights, but now retain a central mullion and glazing bars. The doorway has a moulded surround and a studded plank door. The right-hand chimney projects and there is a chamfered one-light attic window in the right-hand gable.

To the left (west) of the farmhouse is a lower building, also pebbledashed but with a stone slate roof. This building has two windows on its right-hand end; the left window is of three lights, rebated and chamfered with mullions, while the right window has a rebated and chamfered surround. At the rear of the farmhouse, there is an outshut featuring two rebated and chamfered mullioned windows and two plain chamfered windows. The rear wall of the main house has two rebated and chamfered surrounds. The lower buildings to the west have openings with plain reveals, with the eastern end being part of the house and the western end having been used for agricultural purposes.
