Description
Croft House is a house dated 1697, as indicated by the inscription '1697 CB' on the lintel. It is constructed of pebbledashed rubble and has a slate roof. The house features a 2-unit central-entry plan with gable stacks, standing two storeys high and comprising three bays. The windows are sashed with glazing bars and have plain stone surrounds, with a continuous drip course above the ground floor windows. The doorway is cyma moulded and has a shaped lintel. There are stone gutter brackets and gable copings. At the rear, there are later extensions. Inside, the right-hand room contains a blocked fire window that is now a recess, along with a spice cupboard featuring a plain door. The rear wing includes a moulded shouldered fireplace typical of the 18th century.
