Description
April Cottage is a house built in 1741 that has been altered over time. It features pebbledashed rubble and a slate roof. The building is two storeys high and has three bays. The windows have plain stone surrounds, although the mullions have been removed. The right-hand bay includes a former cart entrance on the ground floor, which has a segmental arch and modern doors that are set back. Between the first and second bays, there is a single-storey gabled porch that has a window with a stone or rendered surround on the front wall and a door on the right-hand side. Above the porch, there is a plaque inscribed with 'INE 1741'. Inside the cottage, the ceiling joists are exposed, and the left-hand room features a moulded shouldered fireplace.
